WHAT IS OSU PROGRAM COUNCIL?
Oregon State University's Program Council (OSUPC) is the university's official event planning committee, tasked with putting together 2-3 events per term. During the 2023-24 academic year, I created original designs and marketing materials for 6 major events.
END OF SUMMER BEAVER BASH

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The first event held was the End of Summer Beaver Bash, a celebration for incoming freshmen to meet one another and have one last BANG before the school year kicked in. Like in previous years, the event was held in the Student Experience Center Plaza and welcomed a DJ and elevated foam cannons.

BEHIND THE SCENES
The moldable bubbles were achieved by mixing dish soap and vegetable glycerin. This allowed me to form the bubbles to my liking while also giving them a longer lifespan before inevitably popping. I used a bottle and mesh to blow the bubbles into the water-filled tub and lit up the scene with three RGB lights.

BEAVER COMMUNITY FAIR

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Toward the beginning of the year, OSUPC puts on the Beaver Community Fair. Vendors are set up and organized across the Memorial Union (building pictured in graphics) Quad, acting as a campus-wide farmers market.

ORANGE & BLACK HALLOWEEN FESTIVAL

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
OSUPC always puts on a Halloween celebration, but for 2023, they had a different vision from prior years. They wanted to treat this year as a multi-day festival with a set of deliverables to show off the series of events for students to participate in.
POSTER SERIES
In addition to the main poster on the left, I made striking visuals inspired by the classic Goosebumps novels for each of the major events that happened during the festival. To get the images I was looking for, I created a lighting and posing workshop for the Photo Team at Orange Media Network. This allowed the Photo Team to get low-pressure practice, gave me the assets I needed, and allowed three photographers to see their work highlighted around campus once the deliverables were completed.

DRAG BINGO

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
As the name implies, a drag queen visits Corvallis and hosts a bingo night for OSU students in which they have the opportunity to win prizes and mingle. This year, we had the pleasure of working with Caramel Flava who hosted for the 2023 Drag Bingo event.

MURDER MYSTERY

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Oregon State University’s Program Council teamed up with OMN’s fashion magazine, DAMchic, to host a unique event that blended a fashion runway show with a murder mystery. I was responsible for creating all the promotional materials to advertise the event across campus. To merge the themes of high fashion and true crime, I staged props and used dramatic backlighting to craft a bold, eye-catching graphic that captured the intrigue of the concept.
BEHIND THE SCENES
The scene was lit with two UV black lights. Before the shoot, I researched to determine what materials would interact with the UV lights effectively. I achieved a visible glow by mixing fake spray-on blood with a small amount of vegetable oil. With the subjects being cyan, I chose a bright yellow to contrast the objects to create a compelling final design.

FLAT TAIL FESTIVAL

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Flat Tail Festival is an annual event hosted by Oregon State University's Program Council (OSUPC). The event acts as an end-of-the-year celebration to bring students together one last time before finals. Rida Kauser (Creative Associate for OMN) and I were tasked with creating marketing materials for the festival, which consisted of posters, digital advertisements, social media posts, stickers, banners, and t-shirts.
