PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Flat Tail Festival is an annual event hosted by Oregon State University's Program Council (OSUPC). The event acts as an end-of-the-year celebration to bring students together one last time before finals. Rida Kauser and myself were tasked with creating marketing materials for the festival which consisted of posters, digital advertisements, social media posts, stickers, banners, and t-shirts.

DIRECTION 1
The first direction came from a more literal way of thinking. Since the festival is centered around music, I created a simple graphic that is representative of a vinyl record while still reflecting a minimalistic look that the OSUPC team requested.

DIRECTION 2
The Flat Tail Festival is arguably OSU's largest event put on for students. This direction highlights the exciting and full nature of the event while still using simple shapes to guide the viewer throughout the poster. The center graphic is representative of musical sound waves to tie the theme of music being central to the festival back into the overall visual.

DIRECTION 3
By combining elements from the first two directions, I created a graphic that OSUPC was pleased with pursuing. This direction
brings the single, central shape that the first iteration and combines it with the abstract sound wave shape the second direction focused on to provide eye-catching subject matter that communicates the musical theme of the event.

SHIRTS
What is special about this project for the design team is that we also get the opportunity to design shirts for the workers and volunteers who work the festival. Rida Kauser and I generated a handful of concepts that echoed the band's aesthetic and that of the
festival itself.
festival itself.

OUTCOME
Due to unforeseen circumstances that took place on OSU's campus, the event was cancelled by the university one day before the event took place. As unfortunate as that news was to digest, it was still an unforgettable experience to work with the OSUPC team and Rida Kauser for a final time on my last major project as Creative Lead at Orange Media Network.
