PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Oregon State University’s Program Council and OSU's fashion magazine, DAMchic, collaborated on an event that went from a fashion runway to a murder mystery. I was tasked to make the deliverables to advertise this event across campus. My original plan was to pose people as victims of the murderer in a historic building on campus and put a mysteriously silhouetted figure in the center of the frame. That plan fell through due to the inability to reserve a space and manipulate our setting, so I pivoted to a striking image that zoomed in on what appears to be a violent murder with a blood-covered wrench and a victim's hand with a shattered phone and torn jewelry.

BEHIND THE SCENES
The scene was lit with two UV black lights. I did research prior to the shoot to determine what materials would interact with the lights effectively. By mixing fake spray blood with a little vegetable oil, I achieved a visible glow. With the subjects being blue and cyan, I chose a bright yellow to contrast the objects to create a compelling final design.
LAST MINUTE CHANGES
It was requested that the color palette changed a couple weeks before the event after a poll was conducted at OSUPC. Although I heavily preferred the original color since it is more directly tied to a crime scene with the effect of the black lights, I satisfied the clients' request and made the graphics black and white while letting the text pop in maroon.
STATISTICS
OSUPC saw a 30% increase in attendance from the previous year with 200 students present.
